Il se compose d’une manière intéressante : le personnage, son attribut (le paon) et la famille (bas-relief sur l’autel) et son épanouissement (corbeille de fruit et fleurs). L’inscription sculptée dans le marbre évoque une uvre préparatrice pour un décor plus ample dans lequel devait s’inscrire plusieurs dieux.
